Date Change for Symposium on Sports Business Ecosystem at Afreximbank’s AfriCaribbean Trade & Investment Forum
Washington, DC – May 27, 2024 – The AfriCaribbean Diaspora Alliance announces a schedule adjustment for the highly anticipated symposium, “Accelerating Trade, Investment, and Job Growth in Africa and the Caribbean Through Sports Business Ecosystem.” Originally slated for Tuesday, June 11, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., the symposium will now take place on the closing day, Friday, June 14, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
The symposium is an official side event of Afreximbank’s AfriCaribbean Trade & Investment Forum (ACTIF2024) in Nassau, The Bahamas, hosted by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) and the Government of the Bahamas.
The symposium, "Accelerating Trade, Investment, and Job Growth in Africa and the Caribbean Through Sports Business Ecosystem," is an integral component of the Forum's thematic emphasis on creative industries and sports. As an official side event, this schedule change ensures the symposium is fully integrated into the Forum’s programming, highlighting its critical importance to the overall agenda.
"We anticipate the new time slot will raise the symposium's profile, enabling our session to complement existing programming. Furthermore, it will engage more attendees in deeper discussions about the dynamic intersection of sports, culture, and business across Africa and the Caribbean," said Leila Ndiaye, Chief Executive of the AfriCaribbean Diaspora Alliance and CEO of LND Global Network.
The AfriCaribbean Diaspora Alliance is an alliance of companies dedicated to promoting trade, investment and shared prosperity among Africa, the Caribbean, and the United States.
The symposium promises to be a transformative and immersive experience aimed at bolstering the region's economic engagement and cooperation. With an expected attendance of high-level African and Caribbean government officials, influential private sector leaders, and sports celebrities.
Symposium sessions will discuss themes such as leveraging sports infrastructure, technology, and entertainment as investment opportunities, promoting cross-border partnerships in the sports industry, and empowering youth through sports entrepreneurship and skills development.
