Reframing the narrative on business and investment in Africa.

Africa’s potential for business growth is unlike any part of the world. Home to some of the world’s fastest-growing economies, the continent is rapidly becoming one of the most desired investment destinations in the world. Yet far too many investors still view the continent as too risky for investment.

We seek to change that perception through powerful storytelling, market insights, and amplifying voices of U.S. and African business leaders and investors.

Executive Profile

Shanta Bryant Gyan, the CEO and Founder of ContentFrontiers, has over fifteen years of experience in strategic communications, content development, and marketing, with a specific focus on business and investment in emerging markets.

To help boost U.S.-Africa trade and investment, Shanta directed and managed communications for Prosper Africa, the U.S. government’s trade and investment initiative. During the 2022 U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit’s Business Forum, she conceived the idea and led communications for The Deal Room, hosted by Prosper Africa, which delivered bold, new, and expanded announcements of deals and partnerships from U.S. and African businesses, investors, and government leaders. Her strategic approach garnered millions of viewers worldwide, delivered media placements, and U.S. President Joe Biden heralded The Deal Room in his opening remarks at the Business Forum. The robust communications strategy, in collaboration with Edelman Africa, was recognized by the 2023 Sabre Awards for Media Relations.

Launching her career as a reporter for the Nairobi-based All Africa News Service, she covered the continent as the wave of multiparty democracy spread across Africa. In the United States, she worked with leading international organizations, including The Africa-America Institute and Shared Interest, to increase coverage and help shape the media’s reporting on emerging markets, particularly Africa.

At the Initiative for Global Development (IGD), a U.S.-based network of U.S., African, and global business leaders, Shanta crafted strategic messaging for the organization and designed and launched a multimedia communications campaign and U.S. roadshow, Africa Investment Rising, aimed at increasing business and investment in Africa. Additionally, she served as the publicist for films, Africa: Open for Business and Africa Investment Horizon.

She has a B.S. in journalism from Boston University and a Master’s in International Service with a concentration on international communications from The American University in Washington, D.C.
